No. Price Family Law Support is a family law support service. We give you strategy, guidance and help preparing your case and your paperwork. We do not conduct litigation for you, and where you need a solicitor or barrister we will say so plainly and help you brief them well.

How do fixed fees work?

Every piece of work is quoted as a fixed fee before it starts. You approve the scope and the price in writing, and that price does not move unless you ask for extra work. There is no hourly clock running during calls or emails.

What happens in a consultation?

A free 20-minute telephone conversation about your situation. We go through where things stand, what the realistic options are and how we can help. Within two working days you receive a written summary, recommended next steps and a fixed-fee quotation tailored to your case.

Can you help if I am representing myself?

Yes — that is a large part of what we do. Many clients handle their own case but want an experienced pair of eyes on their strategy, statements and hearing preparation.

Do we have to meet in person?

No. Consultations are held online or by phone, which keeps costs down and makes it easier to fit around work and childcare. Everything you need is sent to you by email.

How long does a children application take?

It varies by court and complexity. A straightforward case often resolves in around six to twelve months, while cases involving safeguarding issues or expert reports take longer. We give you a realistic timeline for your area.

Will the court split time equally?

There is no automatic starting point of equal time. The court looks at the welfare checklist and at what arrangement works for these particular children, including school, distance and the ages involved.

Can the children say what they want?

Their wishes and feelings are considered and given more weight as they get older, usually through Cafcass rather than by the children attending court.

What if the other parent ignores an order?

There are enforcement routes available, but the court expects to see reasonable attempts to resolve the breach first. We help you document what has happened and choose a proportionate response.

A Financial Dispute Resolution hearing is a without-prejudice hearing where a judge gives an indication of the likely outcome to help you settle. Many cases resolve at or shortly after this stage.

If you want the agreement to be binding and to prevent future claims, it must be recorded in a court order. An informal agreement between you does not close the door on later claims.
